another speedo problem

1996 ram 1500 4x4
the entire instrument cluster works except for the speedometer/odometer
(don't know if this helps but)
the other things that don't work are the horn and the cruise and the aux. port (cigarette lighter works fine) and hazzard lights

I have tested all my wires going to the sensors and they are fine.
I have replaced all the sensors and the cluster.
I have checked the voltage to the vss...... (5 volts on both sides of the ground)
I have even ran a wire (white/orange stripe) straight from the vss to the speedometer.... and still have nothing

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!! HELP.... BEFORE I GO INSANE....lol (to late i think)

I changed out the cluster and same thing....and lol @speedo

You could straight wire the speedometer to a gps sending unit lol. This one is weird I don't know what to tell you unless it's a short somewhere. Even then it should've been revealed when you straight wired the vss. Have you looked at the gear in the transfer case yet? Maybe it's missing some teeth.

UPDATE: just had to turn the gear housing over ....now it works just fine....thank you all for your help now time to put a 6" lift on it

Stupid me also......i bought the truck with the speedo not working and even checked the gear and didnt even think to check if it was in right....
