Hemi express. Did you notice at idle the dome lights fading in and out with the cam lope. Mine does it like crazy. The dome lights and the gauge cluster lights do it. I read that a high output alternator would fix that.

What is your idle speed? Stock 700 RPM? Cheaper to raise it a couple hundred RPMs than buy a new altenator. The issue could also be an engine ground strap wasn't reconnected after install.

No, haven't noticed that. Idle speed is 800-850. Idle should be set high to offset negative effects of longer duration in cam through intake.

Rpm is set to 725. The lope is awesome but ill check the ground straps. Also will ask A.R.D. In houston about the issue. Thanks

Might need to bump the idle up a tad although you'll lose the lope somewhat.

No track times yet. Leaving the Island for ny for some more work on it and a revision to the tune.Who knows when I can get to the track. 6000 miles on the truck, I need new tires. Arrington makes my tires go bald. I will say this, in 4x4 1/8 mile 8.39 sec @ 82mph , unofficially.

I will be very interested to see what the real track times are :head3:

It will be nice to get there. It was just 3 weeks ago when we had a blizzard in New England area. I'm working on it and I want some rims and DR's for the track. Tuners learned a few things about the Vvt cams and need to revise a couple things in the tune. Swapping to this cam also shut down the EGR monitor. Not A biggy, got it to pass emissions.

This whole process as given me a real appreciation for Tundra's 5.7 VVTL-i cam.

Variable valve lift technology would really help CMR tuners with Idle and street drive ability issues with Vvt cams. Sure tuners have come a long way with tuning these cams in the last year or so but they are still far from having all the table, maps, parameters available to them from Diablosport. Being able to control valve lift at low rpms would seem to help that much more is solving these issues.

Head/ Vvt 266 cam package is the way to go with these trucks. A really nice boost of torque low/mid range. Only 50 or so HP but another 100+ ft lbs of torque will plant you firmly in the seat. If you can do longtubes, which I cannot because of emissions, the gains should be a considerable amount better. Can't wait to boost the cam. Oh, and the lope, very soothing after a hard day at work.

Let's see a video of how it sounds. I wish I could find a cam tune or something like my buddy's new 5.0 Mustang has.

This is what a cam/head package can do for an 3.55 open diff. 6000 miles on stock tires and they need rotation.
