Bad alternator

Ok guys long story short my alternator took a crap was driving got the check gages light park the truck wouldn't start. So bough a new alternator check the old one was. So I put the new alternator now and and New battery and my dash battery needle is low not charging? Could it be I got a bad alternator ?

I'm not sure but is the voltage regulator inside the alternator on these trucks?

Oh man, might want to remove the new alternator and have it tested just to make sure you didn't get a bad part. After that, I would look into getting an external voltage regulator instead of swapping the PCM.

I went to auto parts got it check they told me it was but they say they can replace anyway I have yo wait till Monday to get another New alternator.is that external voltage regulator Safe.
