BBK 1782 throttle body

Ole Red responded very nicely to a 90mm throttle body install I did when using a Megsquirt tuner. I've found a BBK for the 05+ and need the newer electrical connector. Anyone have a spare or done a similar install?

Not sure if you want the connector for aesthetics, or not. But you could go to Radio Shack, and get some 1/8" spade connectors with shrink wrap to make the connections. Then put some of the plastic wire protector on it to make it look good.

Not sure really if it's spade connectors, or the small square connectors. Either way Radio Shack will have them.

The service manual will have the info. as to what wire is what.

I've wondered if it was as simple as changing the connector on the tb so us 03/04 guys can run the 05+ style.

With many throttle bodies it makes them simply available regardless of price. There are more than a couple items that are not offered for the 03 model. Try tuning for example SCT is offered for the 4.7, but not the 5.7, DSP often causes problem even today if quick tune is used. SuperChip works in a limited degree. No trans tuning. 03's are unique for sure.

The new TB is installed and fired right up with good idle and no codes. The 05 TB is shorter than my 03 TB and I needed to make a spacer for it to fit and a taper to smooth the transition.

I can confirm the plugs are wired the same. And the early connector will not fit the 05+ TB. I recommend just using the new plug spliced to the 03-04 harness, No Big Deal in my book...
