Best mileage with 37's

Ramstrat down in FL is running a 10 inch lift and 40's with a 4.7. So he has you beat lift/tire. But not motor can't wait to see the pics tomorrow!!!!!

Dam!!! I guess if I go with a 3" body and 40's then ill be number 1.... But that'll have to wait till Christmas!!! Lol

And the only scrubbing I has is minimal. The reason is I had to put 1.5" spacers on the front so the tire would clear the spindle. Lol but ain't nothin a hammer and cutting wheel won't fix!!!!

I had 4.56's with 34s and it was geared just about perfect for the highway.

You gotta remember, especially if you're talking about going 80 MPH, you're moving around a LOT of heavy rubber with a 37" tire.

From a pure math standpoint: With a 37" tire, 55 MPH, OD Off / On, you'd be at:

3.55s 1769 / 1185
3.90s 1944 / 1302
4.10s 2043 / 1369
4.56s 2272 / 1523
4.88s 2432 / 1629

Now at 80 MPH

3.55s 2573 / 1724
3.90s 2827 / 1894
4.10s 2972 / 1991
4.56s 3305 / 2215
4.88s 3537 / 2370

Two big things to think of:
1: 37" tires are not highway tires. Period.
2: Don't fear the gear! Around town and on the highway, having the RPM's up higher with massive heavy tires will be to your advantage. Think about trying to pass someone, lay into it, and you truck just bogs. Very unsafe.

Ok so now I'm thinking I might not have 3.55 gears....... On the drive home I was behind a coworker doin 55 (my speedo was showing 50) my rpm's were at 1300...... .And by this chart I've got 3.93's......

So how can I really check to see wat gears I have? I looked at my differential and there was red rtv around the cover.... This means they did a fluid change or they changed the gears???? How can u tell??

3.92 or 3.55 either way you are going to like 4.88 more. Lol.

Stupid remark by me. I'm way too tired to be posting. The tires looks great! The speed test is one good way to check. Another is just check your original build. Is it possible it came with 3.92 gears?

I know everyone was telling me the stick LSD would cause my truck to ink spin one tire, but when I peeled out I always had two marks. Not sure if they did something to it before. Or what. Just ended up fixing it up even better anyways.

Morale of the story. Get those gears!

The only upper had I have with all the lift and tires is, I'm only 2wd!!! I don't have the extra weight of all the 4wd parts lol
I know coming to work my mileage on the hwy only went down to 15mpg lol (by the overhead) but I can tell the city is way way down!!!
