Hey I have a 2007 Dodge ram 1500 QC 4WD lifted with a RC 4inch suspension lift. I was wondering if someone could help me fins the right bilstein shocks for my front . I need my front lifted about 2 inches.

I also had a question about these shocks. If you have a 6in lift, and you put these shocks on, they can give you an extra 2in of lift? Because I see people that have this setup on here and I like it.

Quick question, will i need to take out anything or replace anything? or just install the Bilsteins without removing anything in the front?

It's a little bit of work on the front end of te 1500s
Hell bent steel has directions for installing a spacer it's nearly the same process except your just replacing the struts and not installing a spacer

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, im still really new to this and trying to learn as much as possible, but can the shocks add lift to the front and back? Or just the front?

Only the front on 06-present 1500
They don't work with solid axles(leafs or coil springs) bacuase of a different type of suspension used

Wait spacer? Im confused haha.. To put in front Bilstein 5100's, i don't need to remove any of my RC suspension lift right? just have to simply install the Bilstein shocks?

I just ment use there directions to see how to disassemble to remove the shocks and replace
Although now that I look at the RC kit there is a strut spacer listed in the parts that may cause problems

So how do I know if they will work on my truck? Or does it depend on the kind of lift that I get? Sorry like I said, im new to this and still trying to learn xD

They will work on your truck is what they're saying. What Stangshcky was getting at is if you read the directions for a leveling kit such as one from HBS its the same principal. It'll walk you through the steps of dissembling the front end and when it gets to the point of removing the shock, just install the Bilstein 5100's and reassemble.

The only thing you may need to be cautious about is the use of strut spacers with the lift kit
I know some of the 4th gen guys removed a spacer when they installed there bilstiens with their lift kits (pre-load spacer?)
I don't believe it'll be a problem but it is something to be aware of

question, whats the difference in the bilstein 5100 vs the 5160, other than a lot more in price. Are they that much better, or just different application. I have a 08 5.7 4x4 with stock ride height and im not looking to lift it or level it or anything, i just want the better ride quality. I was just wondering if it would be worth considering the 5160? I don't go offroad much, but i do drive a lot back and forth to work (approx 70 mi/day) so i want it to be a good daily driver. I do tend to have quite a bit of weight in it several times a month. I appreciate the input. Thanks.
