I'm looking into getting a cai. I had an Airaid in my last truck and loved it, but I was looking at the k&n this time around. On the website though, it says that it is illegal to have it in California. Does anyone know if its all cai's? Is it still illegal if its a Mopar? Thanks.

Cali is pretty iffy on their laws, don't like you changing much involving the engine.

Yeah... I never really looked into it. Last time around, I did the cai, throttle body spacer, and 18" magna flow, so i guess i could just go ahead and do it. But what i'm wondering is, Does it make a difference if its mopar or not? I can't seem to find it on the website. I guess i could call the dealer though, but I never know with those guys...

Got a banks on my ctd and an AEM CAI on my 240. In order to pass smog laws the parts you put on must have a CARB sticker on them to be emissions legal. Or you could remove and replace with OEM every 2 years for smog.

If it's not CARB approved for that specific intake and for your model year and make vehicle then it's illegal in Cali. You can look it up on the CARB website and check for yourself to see if they've approved it but it's a slow and painful process to wait on.

I would just give the dealer a call. They'll know.
