Well shoot. I can cut the wire as well but maybe I should return it. I’m planning on mounting it where my grill meets the bumper. I’d love to hear your suggestions.
To be clear, I'm like 99% sure it's compatible if the right wire gets snipped (mine says cut the white wire EDIT: I cut the white wire, it doesn't work). Where the grill meets the bumper as in flush mount? If so I would say this is probably a good camera for that (aesthetically), but adjusting it if needed would essentially not be an option as it has a fixed position. I used these in my mirrors and on the front of my truck mounted in the license plate at one time and they all still work too.
The picture on the site now shows a different camera though so I'm not sure what might be sent if you get it. If they are the same here is what the image look like in their mounting locations

One thing I would caution is that if the camera (any of them) are mounted too low in the grille, you will see a lot of bumper as our trucks have a pretty good under bite and the cameras have fisheyes. If you have the honeycomb grille, you can temporarily install the camera in multiple locations in it to see what location is good to you for viewing angle (many mount their's in the Ram's head badge if you have an older 4thgen).
I've since moved the license plate camera onto the bullbar with a camera similar to this:
You would use a camera like this if you wanted to mount it on the lower bumper fascia underside.
Some of this is trial and error though. I might just go ahead and clip this wire here today to see if it works and still has a better image than 9 years ago to satisfy my curiosity, but my curiosity (keep) is in conflict with my frugality (return) at the moment...
