CarPlay pause/play from steering wheel

Hello,

Is there a way to pause/play Apple CarPlay from the steering wheel?. It seems it would be an option on the stereo controls on the back of the steering wheel but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I have to use the touch screen.

Any suggestions?
