I have an 06 with 6 disc changer today I went to change discs and it wasn't switching them and it would eject them. It did it to all 6 discs. Now when I try to put a disc in it sucks it in and out multiple times then it just ejects it. Any ideas on this or is it just shot? Radio still works.

That's what I figured. It is 8 years old. What's a good stereo to put in as a replacement?

Those changers are pretty notorious for breaking. Did in my 07 also. I replaced it with a Pioneer in-dash NAV unit. Loved it.

I meant to say Kenwood. Pioneer was in my first Ram. I changed over to the Kenwood DNX771HD. The reason I chose kenwood over Pioneer is that Kenwood uses Garmin maps, and you can ground the unit to get around video/gps input restrictions with it--the Pioneer is harder to defeat. Anyways, if you've got a stock, standard radio, you will need to modify your bezel, or get the bezel made for the factory nav unit so it will fit. You'll need a dash instal kit either way, as well as the wiring harness. It was pretty striaghtforward, I followed the directions and it went well.

If you need a bezel for a Gen 3, I have one.

Found a Kenwood double din with all the mounting stuff for about $400 installed.

I think this is happening to a lot of us with the CD decks. Things wear out and that is most likely what is happening. I replaced mine with a Kentwood headunit that has the USB input and have as of yet to stick a single CD into it. My usb dongle holds all the music I need and want to listen too.

I ended up paying 503 installed with a 4 year warranty. That's probably what I'll use most of of the time but it's still nice to have a working cd player.

Nice! the warranty is maybe the best part of that. Good to hear you're back up and running
