Not sure if this is just a weird transient error or what, but it is the 2nd time I have had this pop. Started my truck at the grocery store and the CEL was lit. Seemed to be running okay, so I cycled it off-on a few times, and ran back home. CEL stayed on. When to local Auto parts store and we ran the scan tool. The guy plugged it in then started the truck and CEL was off. He plugged the scan tool into their computer and got a U0001 CAN C Bus error (actually 2 times). Their software said the most likely solution is: "Repair Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) Wiring".

This is the second time I've had this happen in 2 years. If I remember the research I did when it happened the first time this is part of the engine control network and its reporting slow data transmission over the redundant internal network. So replace the entire engine wiring harness????

I have a 2016 RAM 3500 Laramie Longhorn 4x4 Crewcab and long box with the 6.7L Cummins Turbo with about 24,900 on it.

Thanks for any advice!!

First off I'd take it to someone that's familiar with diesels and has a real computer instead of the little hand held one. I work at an auto parts store and those little hand held computers that we use are useful to a point, but they only go so far. Secondly diesels are their own breed and quite frankly we don't deal with them that much. I don't know about other chains but our return policy on electrical components is you buy it it's youres, no return. This sounds like it will probably need some "real" trouble shooting. Just hate to see someone start throwing money and parts at something trying to fix it.

Your truck is still covered by warranty, let the dealer fix this.

I would let the dealer fix it, but when the auto parts store read the code, it cleared itself.... you know the dealers, no code = no problem. If it happens again, I will take it to the dealer.
