Just like the topic says. Given my truck/mods which should I be looking at? If anyone has any pics of either of these two tires on the stock chrome clad 20's that would sure help me out a lot. If not, pics of them on a 4th gen would suffice.

That cooper is a good looking tire. I was looking at a different BFG. I'll see if I can get a picture of it.

I had the zeons on my 06 4 door fx4 f150 and loved them. Drove great in South Florida down pours and had hardly any road noise.. Did good in sugar sand too.

+1

We are on our second set for the '07 1500 5.7 CQ 4x4

They do well on high speed freeway, towing, in sand, snow and light mud. They have also survived quite a bit of rocky stream beds and sharp vegetation, so I am comfortable that they are well made and really puncture resistant. Last a good long time and are likely much more affordable than even the lower end BFGs.

These are from a distance, but can shoot something up close if you wish. They are on the factory 20" wheels.

Our first set was on the truck when this vid was shot. They had been driven around town A LOT, and rotated, thus the shoulders are worn on the rears.

Like the description reads, we pulled in right off the highway, tires fully aired up for high speed cruising across the desert through Vegas to the LA Area, so there was a lot more wheel hop than normal. Not the tires fault. Just, as I should have hit the "Tow / Haul" mode and avoided a lot of that auto trans hunting around for gears.

To do it right, I would have aired down and gone much slower. But, it was my first time there, we were alone out in the sticks and I just wanted a quick look around. I could not risk getting stuck, so I just bounced around for a while, then hit the highway again.

Anyway, you can see the Coopers going to work from the various fender angles that pop up through out the video. :party28:

Here is my truck when I had the BFG Rugged Terrains.
Truccky_zps3581568e.jpg

I only got about 27000 on them and they were pretty worn from towing my trailer. Then while doing some mild offroading in the desert, my sidewall got slashed. I do not recommend them.

I heard the sidewalls are a bit soft, i wouldn't even consider the BFG rugged series.

The coopers are my current #2 choice, more load ( XL, 119 ) 2998 pounds per tire, 50 psi tire, about 50 pounds in weight, aggressive looking, handles great in all areas, and affordable. and 14/32" of tread as well.

My current #1 choice is the Nitto Terra Grappler, I think it's definitely an upgrade over the coopers, but mainly in 275/65/20 form. ( 1" taller ).

I'm getting the 275/65/20 nitto terra's, for $216 a tire, not much more then the coopers, simply because it's more value for your dollar.

You get, 15.6/32" of tread, load e ( 3750 pounds per tire ) 80 max pressure, about 60ish pounds per tire in weight. You could do just about whatever with this tire without worries.

I'll be running a leveling kit so the extra 1" is a plus, but even stock setup it'll look great.

Had the LTZ ZEONS on my 3rd gen. Only had about 30000 km on them before selling the truck, they were much improved over the Wrangler HPs.

Good bite in the snow when I was messing around in the fields, we had about 2 feet of snow and I didn't get stuck.

Lost about 3 mpg after the swap the coopers though :( if that matters, didn't to me really.

I have the Zeons on my '10 Ram and my father had them on his '02 Ram. In these wonderful Wisconsin winters these tires are HORRIBLE!!!! My father just got rid of his and mine are going before next winter. Horrible traction on the slippery roads around here. They are nice during the rest of the year though.

Best place I found online is for those is...

www.treaddepot.com

$884 shipped, for all four.

They offer free shipping on toyos also..

but the Toyo Open Country A/T II is $236 a tire.

65k warranty and a and a 600 UTQG, lasts pretty long apparently, but for that price you could get a set of load e's

Yea, if i had to buy the 60/20's, It would be the Coopers.

In all honesty, but I'm going with the 65/20's

Hardest decision in many years lol!

I ALWAYS use Discount Tire Direct.

Free shipping.

Remove the added BS warranty and stems they add on and just take them to the local Wal Mart tire center or whatever and have them mounted / balanced with new stems and go with their lifetime balance / flat repair deal on "carry in" tires.

$712.00 Total.
