Does anyone know what this antenna is for?

It is on the passenger side on the inside of the windshield. I’ve looked online and can’t figure out what it is for. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance

After market remote start or alarm maybe.... I take it you must have bought the truck used??? Does your truck have an aftermarket radio in it with navigation or satellite radio???

I just bought the truck a couple weeks ago. The truck has a stock radio and didn’t come with any fobs for keyless entry or remote start. It does have Sirius radio on the stock radio, but I can’t find an antenna online that’s like it.

That for sure is aftermarket. It's got to be some sort of alarm/remote start - maybe even satellite radio, but I've never seen one that looked like that..

could be a small CB or 2M radio..

Take the pillar off and trace the wire and take it out. You don't need it.

When you put the pillar back on, do not tighten those 10mm bolts that hold it on. Holy really good hand tight. If you use a ratchet, you'll thin the plastic out and when you use it - it will break down the road.

Try pressing your lock button on the factory FOB 3X and see if it remote starts.

This looks as a additional radio antenna to me. Do you have your original whip antenna?
Old owner probably eliminated the original radio antenna and mounted this instead (or mounted a short one).
Selling you the truck he remounted the original antenna and left the windscreen antenna mounted.
Or the cable from the whip antenna is bad and he mounted windscreen antenna.

That is def a alarm/rs antenna. Just put your head under the dash to look for a brain. If it was a good install you may have to do some digging - but those are rare.

Ok so I started looking under the dash and found these. They were both cut. So I guess it’s not hooked up to anything anymore. Thanks everyone for the help.

I'd agree with Staggie that the one is a GPS puck of some type.

Odd that they'd keep it in there before putting it up for sale.

As the GPS Puck was under the dash i guess that it was probably a satelite tracker and immobilizer and the antenna may be a cellular antenna for the tracker.
Ot a old school GPS Navigation system and the antennas is to receive traffic warnings.
i had once a navigator with a external gps and radio antenna.

Kinda looks like the antenna for the Telematics in our work trucks. reports when you speed, don't wear your seat belt, etc.

The Ebay link above (#8) says it might be a cell antenna/ wifi/ bluetooth antenna. Download a wifi signal strength app for your phone and see if it is "putting out" a signal. The truck may have a wifi hotspot unit hooked to this antenna.
