Hi,
I bought my truck used, and already lifted (4" ??)
I just replaced the U-Joints on the rear driveshaft and My question is -
The splined trans slip yoke sticks out about 2.5" inches exposed...
It can go in all the way however - to where none of it is exposed (all the way up to the rubber seal).
On my previous trucks - which were not or were very minimally lifted - it seems like they were most or all the way "in".
So - when the previous owner lifted the truck, did they use the same rear drivehshaft - and it now engages less due to the angle?
Should it HAVE a longer driveshaft to accommodate the lift and therefore engage further ?
Or, shorter version, how much of it needs to be engaged ?
Say it's 7-8" long (guess) and 2.5" are exposed, only about 5+ inches are engaged on the splines - is that a reasonable/allowed amount ?
