In need of swapping out my exhaust on my 04 ram 4.7. What is the difference between the 04-05 vs 06-08. I can find stainless single similar to factory for 06-08 and 5.7 but not 04 4.7

What do you want to swap out? Are you looking for a set of headers or something like a cat-back system or just a muffler?

Just cat back. Replaced a few years ago with Walker system but have already replaced muffler once, and welded tailpipe several times.
Would like something similar to stock in stainless but all I am seeing is 06-08. Nothing for 04.

Gotcha. MBRP makes a really nice cat-back system for the 2004-2005 Ram 1500 4.7 that is made from T409 stainless. I have used this kit many times. The quality is excellent and it sounds great too.

Give it a look see. I think you will like it.

Thanks for the link. Had not come across that before in searches.

Had been looking at this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-...-/184243465687?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286

Near as I can tell they changed from 3" to 2.5". Was just wondering if that assumption is correct. If it is I can fab an adapter from stuff at the shop. Just trying to avoid a full blown custom. The one you linked is interesting and might be the root I go.

The kit you linked to would work and can be easily adapted. I can make anything work. Send it to me in pieces and it'll leave looking like it was made that way. The only reason I linked the MBRP kit was because it is a direct bolt-in application. It looks and sounds great too.

Awesome. Thanks for the link. Like I said I had not come across that in searches. Only dual exh and later styles. Not looking for loud just longevity in New England weather. Time is $ and if I can get a direct bolt on rather than mod something my time can be better used on other projects.

Yeah man. Absolutely. That MBRP kit is readily available from several sources. Find the lowest price and go.
