I have heard good and bad things as well. I wouldn't risk it and spend a little more for a steel hood.

I bought the hood 2 weeks ago. Its on its way. Just wanted to see if anybody has installed one. I just called the dealer for a steel srt hood $950 so im gonna bite the bullet on shipping for my fiberglass hood & get it painted for under 300-400 with the grill painted. So all said in done im at $800 tops finished product. Will see how this fiberglass hood works. Crossing my fingers on this one

They basically reimbursed me for the cost of what a factory hood would have cost... I paid what was left up top. So it was still $550, I just didn't pay all of that. I know, it's complicated when dealing with insurance companies and upgrading at the same time, it was a huge mess, but turned out great in the end

Make sure the shop test fits the hood on your truck before they paint it. Dont just drop the hood off, because they are going to need to prep it on the truck to ensure proper fitment.

I got my oem steel SRT hood for my old truck for $600 at the dealer. You have to go talk to them in person and ask what is the best price they can do on the hood.
