The paint used on vehicles these days is extremely thin, so is the clear. I would bet that the layers of fingernail polish our wives and GF's use on their nails is thicker.

Lol I have a couple rock chips... really ****** me off, but oh well, that's owning a vehicle.

no rock chips on chrome bumpers :flipthebird:

and i feel like when you try to avoid scratches/dings/dents you more likely end up having one happen....at least with me

That's the one thing that I really hate is getting a light scratch or chip on my paint

That sucks, the only way to avoid that is park it and put a cover over it and never drive it, but what's the fun in that

On many of the used RAMs we looked at prior to buying ours new, the chrome bumpers were badly rusted at each rock chip. that was our reasoning for moving up to the Sport (and having it all 3M'd).

If you use your truck for anything that you couldn't use a car for, pretty good chance you will end up with scratches. That's life. Don't look at them as defects, but marks of pride because you USE your truck. Mine has plenty of after market pin striping :waytogo:

That sucks - I'm with you tho. I had some chips and scratches before I hit 500 miles.
