Hey, y'all!

I'm a Texan who moved to North Carolina a year ago. It's been a while since I've been in a Ram. My last one was a 2nd Gen extended cab, back when we still called it a Dodge Ram. I've been through a few cars and trucks since then. My current truck is a 2012 Nissan Texas Titan, but I just got a 2021 Ram Bighorn as company truck, so it's become my new DD.

This is how it looked when I got it.

It does already have a really nice BedSlide installed!

Since I work for a truck accessory company, LeonardUSA, I'll be starting to outfit it soon. For starters, I just removed a few accessories the previous driver added that I don't like. (I feel like the bull bar mounts too low on this truck and looks weird. Also, I'm not a fan of the flat black hood protector with LEDs).

Then I tinted the front windows. Maybe not really needed here in NC, but you MUST have tinted windows in Texas, and old habits die hard.

Finally, while the Granite Crystal Metallic paint is actually pretty nice, all all gray truck is just boring. So, out came the vinyl and I did some go-fast stripes in the LeonardUSA company colors.

While i was at it, I had a broken tail light, so the OEM halogen units got replaced with some really nice LED tail lights by Spyder. The chasing turn signals look really cool!

I also did door handle inserts to bring a little color to the sides.

Finally, I used one of the company logos to do a riff on the Rumble Bee bed stripes. It's fun working for a company that lets me play with my company truck!

Next up will be a spray-in bedliner, in-channel vent shades, interior floor liners and some powered retractable running boards. When the current tires wear down a bit, I'll add a leveling kit and some more aggressive tires.

Hey there. Welcome. I just have one question: why did you choose to leave Texas (county?) for NC (county?)?

I moved from the Austin/San Antonio area to Charlotte to get closer to family. Mom and Dad aren't getting any younger and family is super important. Overall, I really like it up here!

Yeah... A year up here and I still can't find a Mexican restaurant that serves carne guisada. But the diners and breakfast joints here are top notch. And I love pulled pork, too. (I know, Texans are only supposed to like brisket, lol.)

You definitely have to try Jon G’s. Best brisket and pulled pork you’ll find in NC. Only problem (and it’s a big one) is that they’re open only on Saturdays. And there is ALWAYS a line. You’ll almost always wait 30-90 minutes… BUT! It’s well worth the wait. They’re Texas inspired so right up your alley. Lol

Try this Mexican spot: Las Margaritas Mexican Restaurant
It’s on independence. My favorite Mexican joint.

There's a place in Austin called Franklin's. They're open Tues-Sun from 11am until they sell out, which the do every single day, usually by about 3:00. The line for their 11am opening time starts to form around 7am every day. Probably the best brisket on the planet. So, 30-90 mins wait time is perfectly acceptable, IMO. I'll have to try Jon G's for sure.
