Well last night I got my Dual shock hoop mounted and added some more Fox 2.0s. It changes the entire look of the wheel well. The pictures dont do it justice and I think it came out great

Well last night I got the itch to finally fix something that had been bugging me for a while. I didnt like the fact that the CJC bracket pushed my 30" light bar out really far in front of my bumper. So last night I decided to rip out the 30" light bar, CJC brackets, and the stock tow hooks. I fabbed up a bracket and mounted a 40" light bar I had sitting in the garage. The new light bar is recessed into the bumper and I think it looks much better. I also adjusted the front bumper a bit, the fitment was a little off. I finished up kind of late so excuse the dark photos.

This is the old CJC bracket and stock tow hooks i had powder coated

Well this weekend ended up being very productive thanks to the help of my good friend that lives across the street for lending a helping hand. Friday when I got home from work I dropped the fuel tank, modded the stock sending unit, re-installed the sending unit and tank, mounted the new AirDog II 165, ran the new lines and wiring. Overall all it was a very easy job I'd say. started at noon and had the truck running by 6:30. Modding the in tank pump/sending unit was the most time consuming part. The only part that scared me a bit was at the tank you leave one of the fuel lines disconnected. That line runs to the front of the engine bay where it hooks to a fuel fitting. In between that run is a fuel canister. AirDog instructions tell you to either cap it or leave it open since it is no longer used. Well I opted to leave it open since the lines have quick disconnect fittings and I didn’t have a cap or plug that would seal correctly. On the first test drive I got fuel and immediately thought I had a leak. It turned out it’s just the open line draining fuel from the canister. Since it has slowed down and is not leaking too much. Other reviews online say the same thing and it will eventually drain itself enough that splash out will no longer be an issue.

Saturday I started my head studs. My overall experience with this install is that just about anyone can do it but I would suggest having a friend or 2 help out since its tiring after torqueing the bolts over and over. For anybody that is wanting to do head studs it seems kind of intimidating but it’s just a time consuming process and the directions are pretty straight forward.

A few days ago the truck got dropped off at a friends shop to get a bit of an appearance change. Should have it back in the next day or so. More pictures to come.

So not many updates on the big truck lately I have been pre-occupied with a new toy. I sold my frame off S10 build and wanted another custom taht was a little more practical. 2005 stock floored Dakota full custom interior, bed, engine bay, and suicide rear doors. Really the plans are to do a complete exterior overhaul to make it mine and tweek a few things. Enjoy

Well I got started last night on something Ive wanted to do for a while. I think its a nice touch and very helpful at night. Within the next week or so I should have quite a few accesories for the bed coming in and I thought this would be be beneficial to have.
FullSizeRender%202_zpsukqps9uq.jpg
I tucked them up under neath the bed rail where you cant see them, tied into a power off the back of the truck and ran a switch into the bed so I can easily reach it and turn them on.

Well I got set up with an sPOD kit. I got the universal kit with the mini bezel. I also got the remote control module so I can control all the accesories from my phone. I am in the process of ordering some custom rocker switches to swap the colored ones. Last night I got the old wiring removed from all the old harnesses, I mounted the main relay box on the fuse box lid, and re-wired everything. Tonight I will get the wiring ran in the cab and mount the switch box.

Alright well last night I got the switch bezel mounted, ran the new wiring for the switches, and setup the remote power module so I can control all the accesories from the sPOD app. I do have new switches in route so they all match, and as you can see I had some fun with the extra channels until I get some of my new accespries in.
