Is it possible to get your truck tuned and NOT buy a Superchips/Diablo?

I don't want to shell out the coin for a tuner as I am not a gearhead and am only really interested in getting it tuned once and being done with it. I have a 2002 Trans Am and I knew a guy who had a progam called HP Tuners and I paid him like $100 and he tuned my car on a dyno with his software. Does anything like this exist for our Hemis that I could pay someone to tune on a dyno?

I am sure there is something out there but from what I have seen they will run you about the same as a tuner. Most dyno tunes run around $100-$150 an hour and some take longer than an hour to dial everything in specially for after market mods, they also need something like a DSP or SCT inorder to load the tune on to the computer. You can do the PSC-1 and a few other products from them which are not a tuner but you will still need to purchase those parts and then pay for someone to do the tuning.

Why not find a used 3815 Flashpaq (Superchips) or used DSP? The flashpaq's have been selling for $100-$150 lately and you can find used DSP's for around the same or a little higher.

Like he said, nothing like the Hptuners available for us yet. They are working on it though. As long as your not doing heavy mods like cam or heads just pick up a used superchips 3815 and you will be pretty happy.

You can get a psc-1 or a split second tuner but unless you really know what you are doing i wouldn't do it. If you really want custom tuned you will need to buy a diablo or sct and then go get dynotuned. But unless your highly modded i wouldn't waste the money.
