The Bilstein 5100 install was definitely a learning experience. It's a m!@#&$ to get the nut loose on top of the factory struts when removing them from the coil spring because there is not enough room for a wrench and you can't use a socket and hold backup at the same time.

I also had a problem reconnecting the sway bar link, which I have now seen at least three other people that had the same problem. The top threads on the link itself stripped out before getting tightened to spec (which is 30 ft lb from what I could find). Maybe that's too tight? Anyways, it cost me a two hour drive to find that part on a Sunday. I had 8 hours invested in the driver's side yesterday counting travel time, but I learned some valuable lessons that made the other side much faster.

This morning, I got started on the passenger side and was finished in 2 hours. Bils are set at 2.1". Went straight to the tire shop and got some Toyo Open Country MT's put on (295/60/R20). No rubbing whatsoever and it doesn't have the overstuffed look that 35's cause. Front end is being aligned right now. I'm happy with it, what do you guys think? The first pic is after the level, but before the Toyos. 475cca54729f2f35a31ad1f046d8f98c.jpgf207a3f93bcd7466a1f2d81ab7d3c1b8.jpg34915c79cb082e935a663364782c54ee.jpg24bbf0dccab74587fd50e4db89b26970.jpg85fa1816679d5fd32a482223474523de.jpgb8aa12ece20873e1c545e88c7a530b06.jpg

Thanks, Parkerbows. I'm anxious to go drive it some and see how she handles. So far, I've only been from the tire shop to the front end shop which is all of 2 miles lol

Truck looks awesome. Nice choice on the Toyos. Out of my price range but if I had the cash, that is the way to go.

Thanks Danam. They are definitely proud of them. I almost went cheap with Federal Couragia's, but I've read too much about them being a junk tire and only lasting about 10,000 miles. Toyos cost me $425 each including mount/balance.

Are you close to rubbing anywhere? I was considering get a set of either 295/60R20 (34.29x11.5) or 295/65R20 (35.43x11.7) Cooper STT Pro. I have stock Sport 20" wheels with approx 2.5" lift in front. Think I could clear the 295/65R20s after base on your clearance with 295/60R20s?

Gymkata, I bet they would fit. I'll try to take some closer pics for you in the daytime so you can see how much clearance I have.

Looks good! I'd be curious what your mpg drop is like after a little while with the level and tires!

Looks great man! I was torn between 295/60 or 295/65 ended up going 295/65r20 Cooper stt pro @ 2.1 and love the look, not stuffed to me and no rub.

On my second set of Toyo's, love them but this time I went with C/T's and they are doing well. Your truck looks awesome... Enjoy

Glad to see you got it done !

Pointer on the oem strut nut : use a Snapon thin wall socket and an electric impact 12vdc. , comes off in 2 seconds ! OR use an open end wrench and an offset box end wrench to remove/ install the top nut . The impact really works well on the install as well , no need to hold the other end it an opened end wrench "usually "
Hope this helps !
