Katzkin upgrade

Been following these forums for a while getting ideas and instructions on upgrades. I finally got tired of cloth seats after looking at different brands i decided on Katzkin picked outlaw black accent with a lapis insert on a 2014 ram 1500 quad cab slt.

Doing audio controls and backup camera later this week or Monday before i do the 8.4 upgrade

No i didnt do it myself the place I went gave me a bundle type deal on some more work im gonna get done

Mind me asking about how much it ran you for the material and labor? I kinda want a black with red stitching set. Not sure if I should go with katzkin or roadwire

Hard to say because they did my seats and are doing my steering wheel audio controls, backup camera, ceramic tint on all my Windows and on my wife's car. But everywhere here in southern california i was quoted from 1100 to 1500.

Ive seen all one color katzkins for 600 you can call around for labor costs possibly keep it under a grand.

yeah they are. I wish i could make the cushioning more comfortable also but that's more then i want to spend on seats

Get this my Dads truck which is an 09 Big Horn has a ripped seat in front. Cost to replace the just the bottom cover is $173 with family discount (nearly cost) the foam piece is $120!

I just did my with the Katzkin and love it, so glad I did this. The same shop helped with the overhead console! Great addition to the truck. Added heated seats and the fit and finish on the side of the seat looks great. Will add pics

I was thinking of replacing the foam insert on the driver seat because ever since I installed the Katzkins it seems like it is not level anymore, but I'm thinking it has something to do with the way I put it back together or the spring mechanism got moved or something. Not sure. I tried fixing it once but might try again.

did you get the katskins through mopar? sounds like a pretty good price, looks good. Are they heated?

I did the Katskinz upgrade on the 2nd day of ownership and have 1 regret. The manager I know personally of the interior trim place did not tell me that they have a heated/cooled option! So since then Ive wanted the cooled but its a completely new package.

It's called "Degreez" and although it's pretty sweet.. it's pretty pricey. Run about $1000 for both seats just for parts. Install will run about another 1.5HR per seat.

I did the Katzkin upgrade on mine as part of the deal with the truck, but the dealership screwed up what style I wanted. Tried telling me that all they can do is one tone colors. BS.... had to print this damn thing in color and teach the Sales Manager something (Google "2017 RAM Katzkin PDF").

I'm getting the kit they installed removed (The Outlaw Edition) and replaced with the Saddleback edition two toned to match my interior and dash kit. Will be black and brown with brown stitching.

Nice. That should look pretty sweet. I'm still waiting on mine to come in.. you doing it yourself or the upholstery shop? What you end up paying just for the kit if you don't mind me asking?

The shop is doing the install. The saddleback kit is $100 more than the standard kit. I was quoted as installed for $1195. I think install is about $500 and the kit is $695. Only because I paid $595 last year for my 2011 big horn crew cab.

I can't wait to see it when it's done.. I have the same interior but I have the tan leather seats..I've been thinking about adding the exact same leather seats covers to mine

I've had mine in for about a year now. Only regret is I only got them heated and not cooled. I got the perforated seats with custom stitching and inlays to match my flame red Express. Much better than the cloth, the pics don't do them justice lol. And the dents in the back bench are from my kids car seat, not a defect in the covers.
