So I've always had big car stereos with a ton of base but now I have a family and cant lose my back seat in my 2018 Crew Cab. I've seen the 2 plug and play boxes from Kicker and JL and wondering which I should go with? Any recommendations and why? Thanks in advance.

Also, any door upgrade speakers you like?

In my 2014 Dodge Ram crew cab ..... I’m in the same boat. Your stock speakers are junk. I recommend jbl speakers for all your doors and tweets in the dash. Run off the stock amp. Fox acoustics makes a killer sub box for under your seat. I did my homework for months before buying this set up. I had alpine 12’s in it and it sounded great. Check on YouTube ...... fox acoustic Dodge Ram ..... pac make a PAC-lp7-2r converter ...... it’s a ported box under the seat powder coated for 2 12’s ...... good luck

we have the similar setup.

The front is pretty much junk, but moreso the tuning.

I used a Kicker KEY180.4 Smart amp. Its a true 45x4 and put Kicker KSC354 in dash, and the Mopar midbass 6x9 only. Then used the Automated DSP in the KEY amp to the dash and doors on. This will REALLY wake the front up. The KEY does its own tuning, DSP and time alignment with compression. Means you can max the volume and not distort. Its $199.95. Speakers can be of whatever brand you want.

Then I added the VSS sub, takes about 30 minutes to install.

This combined made a HUGE sound change, now I have a dash and center stage, and bass!
All that easily under a grand.

I've used JL subs in both of my rams. Current set up is two 10's powered by a 1000 watt no amp. Also put kicker speakers I dash and doors.

Sounds awesome.

Pitbull24: I love JL Audio, I've been running JL subs since I was 16yrs old. (37 now)
The only issue I run into is I need to use my back seat for my dogs and I lose the cover with dual subs. Also, didnt you have to raise your backseat for that?

Sorry for the delayed response, but no I did not have to raise the backseat.

I believe you have to with a netaudio enclosure , and not sits on Fox box.

Depends which net audio you use. They have a tall box for bigger subs and a short box.

The JL stealth box sounds very good in these tricks!
