Okay so another indecision of mine

I'm totally unsure of what UCA to pick there's just too many choices and they all seem the same (uniball wise)

I currently have mevo's but i don't seem to have good luck with UCAs and the boots have small holes in them leaking out grease. Might as well upgrade them one last time while i'm throwing on my coilovers.

First off whats uniball vs ball joint. Uniball is better correct? Less maintenance and a bigger range of motion.

so we have:

Zone (ball joint) 430.95 Zone Offroad Heavy Duty Upper Control Arm (UCA) Kit D2301

Uniball control arms:

Tuff country 463.26 2009-2016 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Uni-Ball Upper Control Arms by Tuff Country #30930 | SuspensionConnection.com

Readylift 599.95 2006-2016 Dodge Ram 1500 Upper Control Arms

Fabtech 649.80 Ram 1500 2009-2015 Dodge 4WD Uniball 0 and 6" Upper Control Arm Kit | Jack-It, The Suspension Experts

Icon 787.45 2009-UP Dodge RAM 1500 Uniball Upper Control Arm Kit | 218550

Total Chaos 743.42 Uniball Upper Control Arm Kit | Total Chaos | 09-16 Ram 1500

Which one do you guys think i should go with. I was leaning towards the fabtechs, but are the worth it over the tuff country?

Are the uniballs replaceable like the ball joints?

Isn't that were they fail? If the wear parts replaceable then why not save money and get Tuff Country.

Id go with the zone, myself ive never been a fan of the exposed uniball setups, seem more prone to premature wear from the elements

i cant say that i expect a uniball to fail sooner. Everything i see says less maintenance on a uniball, which would lead me to think they don't need to be replaced as often. I mean most people who a desert running have uniballs and sand gets into everything.

But idk i guess no one on here has gotten any of these uniball ucas?

Well I've only heard about Zone and Mevotech, but if you've got money to burn go Zone, if you want to buy a quality UCA that is much stronger than stock give Mevotech a try. I've been very happy with them on my truck!

I like the Zone products I already have so I voted for Zone as well if you're not going to go with Mevotech. I can tell you that the Mevotech's were a MUCH better improvement over stock. But like XRSMAN said, if you've got the extra cash, I'd go with Zone.

As much as I wanted Total Chaos UCA's I settled for Mevo's due to cost. 2 projects at one time gets spendy quickly.

i have the zones on with a 2" level and they look like stock angles in there.. Its crazy how a little move in the position of the balljoint makes such a difference in the angles. Dont know if the other companies move the ball joint..

I have read somewhere uniballs don't do so well in areas they use salt in winter because they aren't sealed off in anyway. But uniballs have a much greater range of motion than ball joints

just get mevos, zones are just beefier

yeah all the ones listed are built better than stock and will all give better range of motion.

I think the ball joints use the boots and grease to protect the metal. All the uniballs seem to be stainless steel, but I'm from California, no help here on salt effects on SST.
