Im looking to level out my 2011 1500. Can I turn up the torsion bar or do I have to buy a leveling kit. Which would be better if I can do either one?

welcome to RF
4th gen rams don't have torsion bars. Assuming you have a 4x4 you will have to buy level spacers or bilstein 5100 adjustables to level your truck

2wd or 4wd...and I dont believe these later models have torsion bars, just the 3rd gens. If 4wd go with HBS for a less expensive route, or Bilstiens for a better more expensive route.

Thanks for the input. Im new to the ram world so I dont know much about them. I just know I hate the stock ride look and it needs to be leveled out. And it is a 4X4

on the 2.5" inch kits do they have to add anything to the rear? i want to level my truck but don't want to mess with the ride too much.

Ok this is a tricky question...in some cases yes in others no. Meaning adding the level makes it nose high, in that case a rear spacer fixes that problem. But im my case and about 90% of others(from what Ive seen) after adding the level you still have an ass high rake of about 1" or completely level. Adding a level you still have the factory ride, trust me!!

I went with the daystar leveling kit when it came time to do mine. The spacers are made of polyurethane which are suppose to help reduce road noise since polyurethane acts as an insulator where as metal would continue the noise through the suspension and into the cab. But I have been in another ram with a steel leveling kit so I have no idea if that actually works, lol.

I have the 2" HBS and it's about one inch higher in the back than the front.
