So my wiring harness for my lightbar came in today but it’s for a two light system and not a one light like I ordered. Don’t really wanna send it back cause that’s a pain in the butt so now I’m thinking this is my motivation to put a set behind the grill.
Who’s got good info on a behind the grill set up?28FBAF26-27AD-4B49-AE45-9DB5C41ED4CF.jpeg

First thing to note, the grill acts like a collimator. Light only goes forward and output is reduced.

Here are pics of mine. Sorry, to get mounting pics i have remove the grill. Its 90 outside and it's too much work. So no mounting pics.

The lights i have are the slim 6"round u see on every 4wd site ir eBay.

I had to modify the exposure on my pics to see them. Look closely and you can see they are mounted from above, basically hanging from the plastic frame. Then the grill is smashing against them to hold them in place.2d39be804e168b592552fed39f9d8571.jpgc786202c8aee709345e0542aa59fb429.jpg69680184eec05128aa6515a367db35ad.jpge72fce39e3e7bb7dc88863c1965fe805.jpg

I’ve actually been looking at those same lights. Don’t suppose you have any output pics, at night, from inside the cab?

I personally have had such great luck with PIAA's, whenever I upgrade I like the yellow fog PIAA's. They are 50 state legal, and you do need to be careful on some of those lights that you can't use. The amount of light that comes from these are insane, better then any oem headlight, and the periphery views are amazing. Plus. of course when driving through fog, nothing better. These are the white ones, but I recommend the yellows. I can't say much about other after market lights, I'm sure there are great ones, and PIAA's aint cheap probably the better side of 300 bucks, but I swear you will not be disapointed.

Actually this is the one I bought on my last 4x4, not really yellow but a rainbow look, but the light is yellow and they are Fog rated.

This guy's post is cool because he shows light bar versus oem versus fog lights in many configs. As he said, you can't use light bars or some white lights, but the yellow PIAA fogs are just fog lights, you can use them on anything legally. I don't think he has the yellow ones, but the yellow ones have the same look as these ones, incredible side view and increased frontal views, they are just yellow. Trust me it takes nothing from the view, they are the same. Man when you drive on the freeway, it lights up the entire freeway, and best part it doesn't blind people coming at you. Great in deer areas as well.

I see he has rigid fogs but a piaa light bar, all the same, main thing is the light is very similar.

You can wire them to your fogs so they come on with your fogs, but I opted for my own switch. I'd use them for rainy days and just leave factory lights off, of couse now they changed the law here where you need to have lights on in rainy days, but I still prefer the switch.

My 42” lightbar lights up excellent and I have LEDs in my fogs but I’m looking for more of a spotlight now to throw light past the reach of my 5D lens lightbar.

keep in mind the camera is sensitive on night shots. these look brighter that reality.

Here is just the rounds. Sadly I noticed 3 LED burnt out on the passenger side.

Ya, phone cameras aren’t the best at taking certain pictures but they sure are bright and those lights being cheap enough you can replace them easily.
Thank you.
