Ok question Ram fans, I have this loose wire connector in my bed driver side rear on my 17 power wagon. Does anyone know it's purpose?

Doesn't look like factory to me, where does the other end go?
Agreed, definitely not OEM. Need to trace it, but still won't tell you what it was for unless you can talk to the previous owner.

Where it disappears into the bed, it exactly looks like what I had in my 2003 for the lights on my rolltop cover. Bet if the lens is removed there will be splices. If you don't need it, remove it and put good dielectric grease on connection points and use a protection wrap on it. My wires eventually corroded as I didn't know the crap way they connected mine until my blinker stopped working and had to replace the light connector.

It runs inside of the bed somewhere. Have been too cold for me to fiddle and fart with it. Will check better when I get a good day.

Yes you are correct, it also appears to have had some type of cap or something, the front plastic trim is gone and was tried to be attached with caulk.

Thank you I will do that soon.

That's an aftermarket LED connector. Previous owner probably put LED strips in the bed.
