I have a 2016 Laramie with 5.7 Hemi. Just clicked over one thousand miles on it. For the past couple of days the engine has gotten so loud it is ridiculous. IT sounds as if the cooling fan is trying to take off. The truck did not do this the first two weeks I had it. From what I can tell looking at engine the fan is directly connected to engine. It is not electric as a lot of newer vehicles are. Cannot tell for sure if there is a clutch on the fan itself or if it is directly mounted to engine shaft. I don't know what else could be causing the loud noise. I even get the noise when starting the truck first thing in morning. Going down highway as it drops into higher gear noise goes away. Then, pulling away at a traffic light it is deafening again. Just a loud roar. Engine temperature is fine...why is it so much louder now. It is not intake or exhaust noise. Loud roar from what I assume is the cooling fan.
Anybody else had this issue or know what may be causing it?
