Thats awesome! My dad had a 67 rs/ss car when I was a kid. I rolled around in a 83 firebird 305 stick car in the 80s. We built everything from BBF FE motors to Foxbodies. I wish I had hung on to my 93 GT. It had 34k on it when I got it. I sold it to buy the 67 Camaro I did.Sometimes Therapeutic, sometimes quite frustrating!!! Many times I’ve had to step away!
My dad passed just before I turned 11 in ‘77! He did love cars though! His summer car was a ‘65 convertible Skylark! BB421 wit a 4-speed!(maybe a precursor to the GSX?) Hus winter beater was a ‘73 Opel GT! I remember him doing donuts and fishtailing turns in both! One on snow, one on pavement! Mom traded them, and the ‘67 convertible Electra 225 for a Buick Estate Wagon(5 kids when dad passed)! 3 rows of leather, OldsmoBuick 403(TA auto motor?) 3.73 gears and turbo 400!!! That thing embarrassed IROCs to about 85 mph when I got my license at 17! I bought it off her as a senior in HS! Cracked the heads busting snowdrifts that winter! Packed radiator with snow… Wish I had that car nowadays!(There’s a built, 4-speed Roadmaster Wagon out this way now!!!)
Dude who cares! I love talking cars.Sorry for cluttering up your thread…the good old days!
How ‘bout a muscle truck?Dude who cares! I love talking cars.
Nice! We built a 77 Ford Step side and threw a 428 cj motor in it. God that thing was wicked. I had a lot of square body suburbans. My favorite was my 89 350 TBI and a 700R4. It would catch a lot of people sleeping once I did the weight reduction lol. I had a 83 black on black short bed like yours. It was just a 2wd, but it had a healthy 350/350 combo. How ‘bout a muscle truck?

560HP 462ci, 465/205, locked kingpin D60, locked 14, 4.10s, 38” Swamper SXs! 12.4@104mph, 6600rpms in 2nd gear! The guy that helped me tune the Q-Jet and timing figured it’d be a low 10sec motor in a properly built Chevelle!
1/8” floorboards, heavy wall 2” tubing for a cage! Recaro buckets! I cured rubber flooring…smelled like a dairy barn when it got hot! It weighed just over 7000lbs with me in it!

A local mechanic has a wildly built ‘68 SCJ mustang…dual quads through the hood…it’s a garage queen! Parked next to it is a ‘74(?) Ford with a well built SCJ! He’s the original owner of the truck! Twice…it’s been dismantled to nuts and bolts to repain/rebuild! Drives both once or twice a summer! He has everything to put both back to factory! The Mustang is something you’d see at Barrett Jackson…Nice! We built a 77 Ford Step side and threw a 428 cj motor in it. God that thing was wicked. I had a lot of square body suburbans. SWEET!Picked up this 2005 Stage 1 Roush Mustang convertible about 5 weeks ago. 100% stock with 33,000 on it. Got it in Buffalo, NY and drove it 200 miles home. Added a styling bar as soon as we got home.View attachment 539872

I was looking for a ‘91 3/4T Suburban(4L80 trans!) when I bought my PowerWagon! Was hoping to build a decent overlander! The prices are skyrocketing now! Way out of my pocketbook!
My recent decisions are to live a lazy white-trash, red-neck existence now that I’m getting old!!!
So before I got the Z, I had attempted to buy a Calypso green Fox GT 5 speed car with mods. It was super clean. Guy said his buddy was going to buy it. I said ok and then bought the Z. He called today and said his buddy only left a deposit and then back out last week... I told him I had already gotten a the Z. Oh well the Z is a better car anyways especially with its low production number and low miles.
Those’ll fill the wheel wells!Score! I just need the fronts now!
Just north of Pittsburgh. Got it at Joe Basil Chevrolet in Depew, NYSWEET!
Where do you live? Buffalo is just over an hour from me! Naples, NY! I’m less than an hour S of Rochester!
