MBRP 304 vs 409

I searched and found an abundance of threads on MBRP exhaust but none really addressing my question.

I've decided to go with the MBRP catback for my 2015 1500. I unsure between the 409 stainless and the 304. I know the differences between the two materials and like the price of the 409 much better but wondering if anyone has experience running an exhaust made of either?

Is the main difference just surface rust with the 409 vs no rust at all with then304? If it's only going to come down to looks then I'm okay with the 409 but how about longevity?

I have single exit, aluminized I think. Sounds great. Awesome system, match it with hi flow cat and a CAI, I get some backfirextra going up hill between. Gear changes. To answer your question, the main difference is longevity

I bought the 409 stainless from Matt at Moe's Performance. I also got ARH long tube headers but those are in 304 stainless. I had called MBRP and asked about it and they said the exact same thing you mentioned. 304 means never rust while 409 is a little surface after several years...

Thanks for the replies. I went with the 409 Stainless. Both have a lifetime warrenty so that gives me piece of mind and it seems it's more of a cosmetic difference between the two. I can live with some surface rust after a while.
