Missing accumulator inner spring

Have dropped the valve body in my 2002 Ram 1500, V8 5.9L, that came WITH a factory towing package. There was no inner spring in the accumulator, and heard that if you have a factory towing package, that there shouldn't be one. Is that true, or did it just get left out at the factory? Thanks!

Talked to two Dodge mechanics both have run into this before , "there are some transmissions with one spring ( tow package) and some with two."
