Just curious what is everyone getting with 6" lift and running 35's on stock 3.21 gears? I know in future I want to change my gears to 3.90

You'll drop at least 4 MPG with a lift and 35's. I average around high 11's and low 12 l/100 kms on the highway. That's like 19 mpg. (was getting 24 mpg before the lift and tires). Cruise control on 90 kmh helps.

As soon as you throw city driving into the mix it'll really drop again though.

I've also got 3.92 gears..so your mileage won't be as good as mine. Maybe 1 mpg lower. I've also got engine mods to help with mileage (tuner, CAI, cat back, running 91 octane for the tune)

I'm sitting around 14.5L/100km on the highway, around 17L/100km city. (16.2/13.8MPG)

If you're on the 8 speed and only running 35s, wouldn't 1st/2nd be pretty well unusable?

The gas mileage difference between driving at 90km/h and 115km/h with a 6" lift and 35" tires is quite a lot... that extra 25km/h is worth a few mpg's...

Depends on how I drive. I get about 14 in the city and 16.5 highway (75-80 mph) it gets considerably better around 60, but there aren't any highways in Texas with limits that low...

What gears do you have?
If I change gears how do I get my speedo and mileage accurate for tires and different hearing?

Changing gears won't effect your speedo and mileage, but the tires will. You have 2 options. Buy a tuner that can calibrate the speedo, or take it to a dealer and they'll do it for $200 or 300. At least that's what one of the local dealers up here is charging.

So, I'm modding my first truck. What would it run ($$-ish) to switch my 3.21 to 3.90 or 4.56? (1500, 4x4, 8 spd)

I'm getting about 13.5 mpg with about 60% city and 40% highway.
I have 6 inch lift with 37's running 3.21 gears

I'm also curious as to how you're holding up on those gears. I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on that same set up on 37s but Im just paranoid about how much its going to lug and stress on the transmission. I don't expect to have a power house after this, but I also don't want my truck struggling to get up a hill or get up to speed next to a prius. How's your experience been with it so far?
