My first Dodge

Hey folks. I just bought my first Dodge the other day and while its a bit on the high mileage side, I still think I got a good deal. It runs and drives like a new truck and is clean! I've got a few things on the to do list but nothing major. I ordered a superchips flashpaq for it and am setup to have a magnaflow put on it next week. Other than that, I'll leave it alone. I'm really enjoying this truck and how smooth it drives and runs. I was really surprised how peppy the 4.7 is in such a large truck too!

Good looking truck Tristan, keep posting while you upgrade as there have been many questions about tuners and chips and how much they actually affect performance.

Mine is a 4.7 also, replacing head gaskets currently but it does have a surprising HP to cube ratio doesn't it?

It really does. I figured it would be a bit doggy but I was quickly proven wrong, even at 230k miles. The engine is damn smooth too. The biggest reason I ordered the SuperChips was for the first time ever I had the extra cash to do so! I figure it would only add to the fun of the truck. It should be in next week and I'll be getting a Magnaflow with dual outs installed next Friday, so I'm really looking forward to what's in store for me. Sorry to hear about your head gaskets, that's why I scrapped my last truck (f-150) but it was no where near as nice and made it to 346k so I got my use out of it!

I got my Superchips Flashpak today and played around with the 87 and 91 octane tunes and could not believe the difference with either one! I thought it was a fun truck before but now its a whole new ball game!!

Congrats on your first dodge. My Ram is my first dodge also. Have had it for almost 2 months and love it. I've got a 2004 1500 2wd short bed reg cam with the 5.7L Hemi
