When i get new wheels, can I have Discount Tire take off the tire sensors from the old rims and put them on the new rims, or do you have to buy new ones? I'll be up-sizing rim and tire size.

You should be able to switch out the sensors

I was going ask Discount Tire to do that.
Then i decided because my wheels and tires hardly had any wear on, that i would just sell them.
I went ahead & told Discount Auto to mount new sensors on the new rims, it was a bit of sticker shock. They had to get them from their warehouse, so i got them mounted a day or 2 later.

I thought about getting the adjustable PSI sensors, but i decided to just get the regular sensors

They seem to run about $30 to $50 each, depending where you get them from

I had to edit the prices

Keep in mind, TPMS sensors are being restricted to dealers right now. Mopar is only allowing 4 sensors per week to each dealership. So they may be hard to get or take a bit longer to get. Just an FYI for all.

You never know what some company may have in their warehouses
A company like Discount Tire has many warehouses
In fact they are also American Tire, so that is even more warehouses

ONLY the dealerships TPMS are on back order

The tire companies still can get them, if the are OEM or not, they still work

The main TPMS companies are;

Pacific
TRW
Schrader

If your 2019 Ram is a DT
It uses

I bought aftermarket TPMS for my 2020 Ram, when I bought new wheels and tires, the company said they would work in my truck, after paying $179 for them, they don't work.
so be careful if you buy aftermarket ones, I hear they dont read right

i believe you have to make sure the frequency is the same, and they still might need programming. Something that ALL discount tires say they can do.... but cannot.

OP. i had discount tire remove my old sensors, and just install them in the new wheels. No extra charge or anything :)

It is not possible for anyone to change the frequency of the sensor
The frequency for 2014 (& maybe a year or 2 before that,) to at least 2018 is 433 MHz
Before that Dodge Rams used 315MHz

It is only possible to activate the correct MHz sensor to work with the factory TPMS Module that is located in front of the driver-side front wheel well liner
