I have a 2010 Ram Sport (4 full doors) I dunno if that's called crew or quad? I need a list of speakers that will fit directly into the front and rear doors if possible. I do not have the Alpine stereo...just basic stereo and my front speakers sound like they are blown now. Any help would be VERY appreciated.

TIA

Go to crutchfields website and enter your truck info... it will give you lots of option on what speakers will fit.

i did that but it said I needed 6.5" speakers, however looking at the doors the cut outs certainly look like 16x9 speakers front and back. This is why I asked.

In a Quad Cab, the rear seat doesn't have as much leg room as a Crew Cab, and the bed is a lot shorter.

It's common to use 6.5" speakers (with an adapter plate) in the place of 6" x 9" speakers. If you order them thru Crutchfield, they will send you the required adapters with the speakers.

Stimpy is correct and Crutchfield is a good site, if for no other reason, to see what fits. I have the 2010 Crew, and have 6.5's in the front and rear, and 3.5's in the dash, a different head unit and an amp. Lifetime tech support from Crutchfield, too. Good luck!

so I was thinking about getting these since they are a pretty good deal for the front and back of my 2010 Ram Sport. The question I have is will they fit and also what speaker should I get to replace the small 3" speakers on the dash in the corners or should I bother with those at all?

Thanks so much for the help and advise. I really HATE the way the stock stereo sounds....basic stereo no Alpine or anything. I also really want to add a subwoofer. Could I just cut a hole and use the cover and storage area as the box rather than buying a box for that area?

Should fit fine, and we install a ton of the GX speakers, pretty good for the money.

what should I use then to go with those 6x9 JBL door speakers? These 3.5" are the matching speakers so that's why I thought I'd get them.

a good 3.5 in either 4, or 8 ohm. 8 ohm preferably.

So I called a local shop and they said I couldn't just replace my speakers because I'd need more power to drive new ones. Is this true? I thought I could just swap out the 6x9 for new speakers and it should work just fine. Any thoughts?

LOL, they are trying to up-sell you...yes, of course you can replace just the speakers without adding amplifiers.
Now would they sound better with an amp, yes...but you can just replace speakers with no amp.

oh great! Perfect! Ya they said I needed a "mid driver" for the door because the Ram only has mid drivers...and then a tweeter for the dash and a 3 channel amplifier for that and the sub at a cost of $1500.00???!?!?! I thought that sounded a bit nutz and when I questioned him he got all pissy with me.

oh...also he said if I put 2way or 3way 6x9 in the doors they wouldn't work because of this mid driver issue? sounded like BS to me...so I wanted to ask you guys.

If you had the Alpine System - he would be right.

If it was high-end equipment, the price isn't outrageous.

$100 - Install Components
$120 - Amp Install
$50 - LOC install
$150 - FoxBox
$30 - SpeedWire
$100 - Amp Kit
$30 - Two sets of RCAs
$30 - Two LOCs
$15 - Speaker Harness

That is $625 just in parts/labor.

A solid amp will be at least $300, figure $200 for component set and $200 for subwoofer, so $700 in equipment brings you to 1325.

Add in tax and you are right under $1500.

Of course equipment could be cheaper and you could do it your self.
