Having an issue with my 2002 5.9. Came home from work ran great. Next day went to crank up,engine turns over but no fire. Display in cab showed -- for the miles left/etc also wouldn't allow me to pull up trouble codes or even reference(done) if no codes present. Used other vehicle came home from work that day, truck cranked and ran perfectly. Next day same exact issue as first. Checked fuel pump its working. Went through all fuses , appear to be fine. There is a ghost somewhere. Anyone had similar issues- right now its cranking and running but that's after an hour of me checking multiple things.

Agree. Check all grounds first. Had a erratic run and start issue with our 07 Mega Cab. Before my tech could diagnose (no codes) he found two bad grounds. Corrected and never had another issue.

Is it humid out when it has issues? Let me explain my question. If your truck has grounding issues or loose connections, it makes it temporarily worse, then when it gets warm out, it’s not so damp. I may not be making any sense but it sounds good in my head lol, seriously though, I did have issues with my truck running rough but only when it was damp out. It all turn out to be bad grounds and corroded tipm.

Thanks all. Going to check the grounds once I get home this evening. Was cranking and running fine most of weekend. Then same thing this morning. So its must be some electrical / ground issue. Going to Google where the grounds are. Not gonna lie electrical isn't my strong suit. Thanks again though. If I do find the culprit I will follow up on the thread with an update.
