I just wanted to get some opinions... I purchased a new 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn about a month and a half ago. I've taken it back to the dealership 5 times dealing with issues with the radio. The volume keeps going up and down while the truck is in motion. Yes the speed control on the volume is turned off. The dealership has replaced the radio and the antenna under warranty. Then I find a part left by the manufacturing plant on top of the transmission. That part tore a hole in the heat shield under the truck. The dealership said they would replace it however, they would have to remove the motor and transmission to do so. They would also have the truck for another 3 weeks. I have gotten 5 loaners from the dealership that I have used more than my own new truck. I'm trying to see what options might be available.

I would call FCA and open up a case.

Then go to bbb.org to get familiar with lemon laws in your state. Many states have a threshold of 30 days in the shop as one of the criteria.

Keep copies of all service repair orders and try to communicate by text so you have a record of your discussions with the dealer.

You might've gotten a gift. A lemon = gift. Sounds crazy? Well, hear me out...

I had a lemon Fiat. Best car ownership ever. 1st problem documented on the 1st day of ownership, I brought it in for service next day. After that... dozens of dealer visits, a stack of records enough to publish a novel.

Almost 2 years later, I hired a lawyer and got ALL my money back. ALL of it, to the last penny, not even a dime for mileage. Because lemon is considered and refunded from the first service date.

Basically I got 2-year free loaner. Can't complain. Dealer was 3 minutes away from my home and I got to drive various loaners (but mostly my own other car). I didn't stress about it. It was no big deal. Something broke? No biggie, here's your car guys, now give me something else to drive for a week or two. :D

Just keep counting the "out of service days" and once you hit 30 days (or 45 in some states) - you have a gift, a free ride. Just make sure to open a claim within 2 years.

DON'T call corporate yourself and compain. I did. Did no good whatsoever. They're utterly useless. They will try to 'resolve' a problem by simply having you to bring your car for another service #150. This service #150 won't be any different than previous 149 services, they might have Extra Important Person present to ensure quality repair, but repair is only as good as technicians or their training. If they're not trained on bizzarre 1st year issues, they won't fix it, just waste your time.

Hire a lawyer.

In the meantime enjoy your truck while it's running, enjoy your loaners, keep records and just wait until they give you an opportunity to claim your money back. Make sure you have a copy of each encounter as dealers like to change names/ownerships - and that means records will be lost! My dealer changed 3 owners during my adventures, I got lucky I kept records because normally I don't and just rely on "if i need them I'll ask them to print them out". Well as I found out, they change ownership - all documents and records get lost. They don't transfer your service records. Lost forever. Corporate couldn't give me a copy either, I tried. They won't help. Noone will. Noone is interested to. It's just you and your lawyer vs them.

If you get to lemon it, it's not just free ride - it's tons of money saved on interest, depreciation etc. Calculate like 20% of car price - that's what stayed in your pocket. A true gift.

If I could I would ONLY buy lemons. I'd never have a car payment! :D

I thought I had problems. I am dealing with multiple but less serious issues than you. I believe mine are mostly software issues. I did have my wipers stop working on week two. Fan in auto mode blows cold air at startup. The fan is supposed to wait for the engine to warm up. Sometimes when I pull out of my garage, the trailer light comes on telling me I am pulling a trailer. My A/C blows colder on the passenger side than the drivers side. Sometimes when I try to lock the doors with the button on the handle, it is dead. The button won't function. The one thing that bothers me is the dealer doesn't find an actual failure because the problems are intermittent. When the wipers failed it did set a code but the dealer just cleared it. Do we live with the problems or get rid of the vehicles and swear off anything related to Dodge or Ram? You spend a crazy amount of money on these vehicles and I don't feel like the manufacturers care if you are having these quality control issues.

Try and refrain from giving too much information on this thread regarding your potential lemon case or what you are actually experiencing or pursuing. Many attorneys use these types of threads to acquire information against potential litigation. I have colleagues who have seen people talking about modifications or improper use of their vehicle on these types of forums and it destroys the lemon complaint.

Also, make sure your lemon lawyer is on contingency.

Hi Stevesfirstram,
We're truly sorry that you have been experiencing all of these concerns with your truck. Please send us a private message if you would like to continue pursuing these concerns with your dealer. We would be happy to add some extra assistance while your truck is at the dealer.

Is this confirmed that the fans shouldn't blow cold air? My 2015 would wait until there was some heat but this new truck blows full blast the moment it is started. Really not liking it the other day when it was 15°
