I just got a '24 3500 Dually, and don't like the tires it came with. I was wondering if the dealer has the ability to reprogram it for a larger tire size. I've noticed that the Ram Duallys on Yellowstone appear to have bigger than stock tire sizes and like that look. Anyone know what size?

From looking around the web the tires are Toyo Open Country A/T II and 35" tall on stock 17" wheels. Either go Online or local tire shop and you should be able to match them up.
While looking around, did you know RAM released to the Brazilian market a "Yellowstone Edition" truck? With Yellowstone Edition badging and all.

I bet they'd sell a few of those in the US.

The big thing to remember when going up in sizes on a dually, is that you need to make sure the rear tires DO NOT TOUCH when loaded. If they touch when the truck is loaded, you will wear out the sidewalls of the rears, which will lead to a blowout that will cause a LOT of damage.

There are a couple ways around this, you can get new rims with different offsets for the rears, to space the tires further apart, or you can run wheel spacers to spread the tires out. I don't know about rim weight ratings, but if you get too big of a spacer then you WILL reduce your cargo carrying capacity - by how much depends on the spacer thickness, and offhand I don't know what the reduction is.

If the truck isn't going to be loaded very heavy (or is just a pavement queen), then you'll be fine doing either of these. If you're going to be routinely loading the truck heavy, however, you'll want to be careful with what you are going to do.

They're probably 255/80E17's which are 121/118 load index.

OEM size is 235/80R17: 31.8 inches tall/ 9.3 inches wide
Alternate size 255/80R17: 33.1 inches tall/ 10 inches wide

Friend of mine bought Toyo AT's in 255/80R17's for his 2500 and they look awesome on his truck. He said they really dig in off road.

So folks can see the tires in question, here's a pic. They're every bit of 12.50 wide and I still believe they're 35" tall tire. They're considerably wider than stock and may be running a spacer in the rear so they don't touch. The tires stick out way beyond stock.

Never really looked at them from the front. Seems like the tire is bulging out at the sidewall because of how narrow the rim is.
