New Shocks for a 3" Lift??

Decided to put a 3" lift along with some 315/70 tires...guy told me the cost, THEN the next day calls me up and says I'll need new shocks also, an extra $270 he said. . . and said that that'd be at his cost, put them in for free.

Is that right? Or is he just gouging/jacking me?

Well, if they're cheapo Skyjacker or Rancho shocks that are $140 a set he is.

They better be damn good shocks for $270. If its Ranchos or Rough Country wouldn't bother, as thats a huge ripoff.
