Caved and bought a set of 275/65/20 Atturo Trailblade XTs, and American Outlaw Grit wheels. Was going to go with a completely different setup with 18s, but cyber Monday deals let me get 20s for less than the 18s.

I'm perplexed though. Should I mount the tires on my crappy Big Horn chrome 20s for the winter, or just mount the new wheels? Naturally I want the fancy new wheels on, but I'm afraid of sand and mag chloride eating them up. It'd also save me money only mounting the tires on one set of wheels instead of swapping. Is there any way to protect the wheels from the nasty elements?

Will there be any issues using the stock TPMS sensors in these wheels? Temped to do the PVC trick with the sensors if there's any problems.

Here's the setup:

I'd use the old stockers for winter, then swap over next spring. Or find an old used set of traction tires for the 20's and rock the new stuff when winter is over.

the TPMS should work fine once you get some miles on the truck after the swap.

And of course up here our winters last until the middle of May, so that's 6 months of staring at my unmounted wheels.

Id run the new wheels, just clean em really good and put a good coat of wax on and be good to go. ive never run into an issues with corroding wheels up here in canada and we have nasty winters and salt everywhere. just keep em clean and waxed and youll look good year round

Those wheels are cool. I voted that you put the new wheels on next Spring but then I ready that you all have long winters up there so, I am with Eljefe this time. Screw It, put em on like a boss ;-)

Looks like Friday is the day I'll. E getting them put together. Everything showed up yesterday, but didn't have time to get it taken care of. I can say those tires look really cool in person.

Mounted today! Dark and cold by the time I got it home. Going to clean the truck up tomorrow and take a better picture, but here it is tonight. Very happy with this setup.
