I was going up a steep hill yesterday and barely made it up because overdrive wouldn't turn off. Is there a sensor I need to replace or do I have bad wiring?

Any other funny acting shifts or anything? Light come on when you press the o/d button?

Shifts fine, no strange actions other than the o/d not turning off. Press the button and no light comes on

If you put your foot down I should kick down into passing gear.

Yeahhhh I've never turned OD off when climbing grades. Put the pedal down and it'll go with ease.

Well it's just a habit I learned from my father, he gave me the 01 I have in my info. If it's a switch issue I won't worry about it because I plan on restoring this 98 to former glory. I want something to be proud of, say I built which is why I bought this old truck

I have that issue with mine.. I've got to push the button really hard and hold it in to turn o/d on or off.

I have a slight delay on my cruise buttons but I think that's just a poor button design.

I had issues with my button sticking and not working. Sprayed with wd40 (I know I shouldn't have lol but I was aggravated) and waited on it to try and it fixed it
