Odd question

Recently bought a 2013 Ram Sport with a burnt out map light. I figured it was an easy fix, but dodge wants you to buy the whole assembly. I made a replacement fixture for it since its a standard T-10 socket, but dodge just over engineered the assembly. Long story short, I need to get the surface of the new assembly smoother so I can chrome paint it, I want to use glazing puddy, but not sure if it can take the temp next to an LED bulb. Any thoughts?

I attached a photo of the assembly. I need to load the hole locations into my CAD program, so the drill holes are temporary.

It shouldn't get very hot being an LED bulb(vs an incandescent) so I think your plan will work out fine.
