No experience with the RAM Nav but have heard mixed reviews on it !
I can tell you in my experience that GARMIN GPS is great! from 100/300$ FREE map updates 4 times a year and Traffic on some units! I have used a GARNIN on my Motorcycle and driven from Maine to Fla. and parts in between with it on my bike, I have used the GARMIN in my service truck at least 10+ years
