So recently my truck has been throwing the P0404 code indicating a bad EGR. I replaced it 6 months ago and within a month it came back. I replaced it again and it keeps coming back. The only time it comes up is after I go hard on the throttle. No symptoms or anything.
Here's what I have done so far:
- Replaced EGR 2 times
- Replaced PCV
- Cleaned TB and EGR "pipe"
- Recently replaced CAT's as one grenaded on me
Truck has been good to me otherwise. Just trying to figure this out without the involvement of the dealer. My largest concern is busting another CAT. That was a $1400 fix
