I was going to use the Plasti Dip in my Ram 'plastic chrome" rims but lots of snow and road salt in my area. Anybody have any issues in these conditions? What could i use to clean and prep the chrome?

It’s really not an issue but you will have to redo the plasti dip after about a year or two from weathering

Not the best pics, but the stripes on my hood are plasti-dip. I sprayed the stripes on there right at two years ago. Being on the hood, they are not exposed to much road salt, but they do get a lot of full sun.

I figure I’ll redo them next spring, and for the price, two years isn’t too bad of a lifespan.

I've plastidipped everything from bullbars to rims you can always spray some clear coat over the plastidip to give it a lil extra protection. And since it's over the plastidip it will just peel off with it anyway.

Just got done plastidipping my wheels. Black with glossifier. We'll see how they hold up for the winter. I'm in Utah so they'll definitely see snow and salt pretty soon!

My stock wheels have been dipped for 6 years now. They are only used in the winter. Been holding up great.

I haven’t done my wheels as I have stock black rims. But I have done my chrome grill inserts to black.

Look up protectdip 2.0. It’s a much better product than plastidip imo.

I live in northern Ontario with harsh winters, lots of snow and salt and it’s held up wonderfully for 2 years now.
