The inverter in the Gen4 trucks is 150 watts(or 1.25 amps). Whether it can charge a laptop depends on the size of the laptop power supply, there will be a input voltage/current rating on the charger itself. The 4th Gen's 110V dash inverter can only supply a small amount of amps (1.5 or 3 I cannot remember). Not enough to charge a laptop, but enough to charge a cell phone.
The only way I know to figure it out is to plug in something with a small motor. If it is steady wine it would be pure sine. If it sounds like it changes pitch or just not smooth, it is modified. Not fully scientific. Perhaps there is something on the inverter itself that would provide a clue, if you can get to it.
