I’m gonna go out on a limb and say because he wants to have push button start. Why would you want to do this ?
The push button start from the 2013+ rams can’t be retrofitted to a 2009.My 2009 has the FOB that fits into the dash (like a key) can this be adapted to use a push start?
I realize there are after market kits... I'm more interested in an OEM solution...

That is just a replacement button for ones that ALREADY have push button start. There is FAR more involved than just that button.Yes... those kits are pricey.
I was seeing if someone had retrofitted something like this.... (ebay link)
