So my driver side rear door started making a very “strained” noise whenever the locks are unlocked - whether via the remote or exiting the vehicle.

I’ve pulled the panel off but the noise is internal and I cannot visibility see any deficiencies.

Anyone have this problem? I’ve attached a link to a video clip that includes the noise.

The gears are stripped on the motor. Mine did same thing. Pulled one from another truck and replaced. It is one unit with the latch assembly. Not hard to change, just tight fit for big hands.

Thanks for the heads up. You wouldn’t happen to have any pics of where the motor is and how to get at it, would you?

No pics. It is part of the latch assembly. You just remove the entire assembly. It is tight, but not bad.

Got my lock actuator. Now the fun part, installing with meaty hands.

Changed out the actuator in about 90 minutes thanks to a YouTube video and taking my time.

No more embarrassing strained groaning noise when I lock/unlock my truck.

So nice!!!!

Not bad to do, just a pain to get in there!
