It can work however it will not mount into the bezel/radio opening without modification. There is a thread about using a 5th gen in a 4th gen.

IIRC the 2019+ 8.4" radios have to be from a Classic to work in a 4th gen. I seem to remember someone tried non-classic radio and it did not work. @Jimmy07 and @Mpgrimm2 really know these radios well. Perhaps one of them will see my ping and chime in here.

There is a whole thread in the DIY section on using a Ram UAS/UAQ in an older Ram. I just put a UAS in my 2016 and I'm very happy with the results.
