Rear End Replace or Repair

I have 2007 Dod Ram 1500. The rear end locked up. Trying to decide do I have someone rebuild or place? If replaced, do I get a used or reman?

I want to save as much as possible, but I don't want to seek myself short.

I would get a used one from a pick&pull scrap yard by the time you piece meal parts you are going to be replacing a window!!!

Thanks 4X4! If I choose to go with a used differential, what should I expect to pay? I assume mileage on the part would determine cost. Also, will the pick and Pull know the gear ratio?

Pretty sure there will be a tag on it also it needs to be the same ratio of the front diff, if you have 4X4, price now who knows but cheaper than buying parts!!!

A reman will run you around $3000 . If your's isn't rebuildable you will also pay the core charge. I went with LKQ and purchased a used one for around $1300, rotors were in better shape than my old ones too
